Providence

For my birthday, my boyfriend HT took me to Providence, an uber hot restaurant that I've been dying to go to since 2010!!! I don't know what took so long, but I finally got to go and it was definitely not a disappointment. The place is very modern and chic, separated into private little areas which give more of an intimate setting. The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and are attentive to the diners' needs. The place is pretty pricey ($$$$ on yelp) but you're paying for the food and experience. All dishes were amazing and on point.

We went with the prix fixe menu. For appetizers, we had a lobster bisque with a kind of cheesy bread, along with bread, chips made from salmon with a pate, and the Kumamoto oysters. First course, I had the live scallop sashimi (delicious) and HT had bay scallops (super duper delicious!). For the main course, we both had the wild maine lobster, which was good but for some reason I haven't been enjoying lobster so much lately. Personally, this was the least favorite from everything else we had. Dessert was the best. I had something called the Carrot and it was the most amazing thing I have ever tasted. So unlikely, but it was absolutely scrumptious and beautifully presented. HT had the sable breton, which is like a cheesecake-ish and creamy dessert but with cake, ice cream with these light crispy shards that have a texture you would never expect.

Ugh, I love food.
We washed it all down with a bottle of wine from HT's dad.
It was the best start for a great birthday weekend.

Happy Birthday to me!
